Thanks Black Bear Reading Series and 123 Pleasant St.

Last night I read as part of the Black Bear Reading Series at 123 Pleasant St. Thanks to Howard Parsons and crew for hosting a fun evening of literary entertainment.

I read from a work in progress, Forgive Me If This Goes Astray, a work of creative nonfiction. And, I got to wear one of my favorite sparkly bird broaches.

Thanks to Natalie for snapping photos, and to Thomas and Mila, who gave great readings. Mila is part of the crew who created Dr Doctor and has a novel available at Split Lip Press. Check them out.

The Black Bear reading series is taking a summer vacation, but will return as the new semester starts up.

A BIG THANK YOU to Kara Lawler and the lovely young women at the Grier School for Girls, for an engaging afternoon of poetry and writing discussion in their newly redecorated coffee barn. I forgot to take pictures this go-round, but here is one from a past visit:

Last Day of April

It feels outside more like June, warm, breezy, sunny--but then the threat of rain. Then sun again.  It's this last day of April, 2017.

Reading in Parkersburg

With great admiration and thanks to Randi Ward, for putting together a great reading and event at the Blennerhasset Hotel in Parkersburg and for the fun pictures (below).

After reading, I had a delicious cupcake. No one knows cake/cupcakes like Randi!

This even was for the Eyes Glowing at the Edge of the Woods anthology of West Virginia writers put out by WVU Press. I have so much admiration for the writers I read with: Rahul, Elizabeth, Cheryl, Laura, Doug, and Ace. You all were wonderful in so many ways.

And Randi, we can never thank you enough for this event and for being the amazing, talented and kind person you are. Much love

And, I have finally had the chance to stay at the Blenny, which I've always wanted to do!

Guest Blog: Superstition Review

One of the places where I published a story, Superstition Review, asked me to write a guest blog entry. I wrote about the project I'm doing in the infusion center at WVU's Cancer Insitute. I hope you enjoy learning more about the stories I work on with patients with cancer.
